Speaker, Trainer, Author and Positive Change Agent

Permission to use contentThis is my blog, and apparently there are people out there who don’t understand that concept. So I would like to state the following for the record.

I have three main reasons for doing this blog, and they are:

  1. I like to write.
  2. I hope it will help my business (Emcie Media).
  3. I hope it will help my readers.

I take whatever steps I deem necessary to assure that my stuff is accurate (and sometimes, that is no steps at all).  But it is my desire to present useful, truthful information about stuff that I think matters to my readers.

A blog is always in transition, and things change.  The information I publish today might not be valid or accurate tomorrow or next week or next year.  And sometimes I screw up.  I’ve been known to make typos and grammatical errors (Yes, even I make those once in a while.) and even errors in fact.  I try to be perfect, but I’m not.

Everything on this website is original content, and is protected by copyright laws. Using it without my permission is illegal, even if you give me credit, and even if you include a link to my website.  If you’d like to use my content, just ask!  I might say yes!

The rest of this stuff is all the legal junk that should cover my assets as I work to provide that useful, accurate, and truthful content.

Graphics. The graphics and images I use on the blog are usually from a clip art site or other stock photo sites.  Some are graphics that I’ve created myself.  In all cases, I hold myself harmless from any harm caused by the images, including any offense that might be taken.   I make a concerted effort to never use copyrighted images without permission, but if anyone believes I have violated that policy, I would welcome their comments, and will work to correct any offense.

Downloads.  If I offer downloadable files, they will probably be in PDF format.  In any case, I provide files that I believe are safe and secure.  But computers get hacked and files get whacked, so please understand that I cannot and do not accept any liability in the event one of those files might damage or harm someone’s computer, their blog, or their website.

Content.  The content on my blog is my opinion and is not intended to malign any religion, ethnic group, club, organization, company, or individual.  I am solely responsible for the content.  Of course, the exception to that is the comments that my readers may leave.  I am not responsible, nor will I be held liable, for anything anyone says on my blog in the blog comments, nor any laws which they may break through their comments’ content, implication, and/or intent.

Guests. From time to time, I might invite a guest blogger to post on my site.  I would like to extend to them the same protections as I claim for myself.  However, their writings are their own opinions, and not the opinions of either me or my company, Emcie Media.  Neither I nor Emcie Media will be help responsible for the content of guest blogger’s posts.

Responsibility.  It is my intention to always provide useful, helpful insights and advice, but take everything I tell you as just that – friendly advice – not counsel.  If you use my advice, tips, techniques, and recommendations, and they cause you grief, I will not be held responsible.

Payment.  I am rarely paid to blog, but sometimes I am.  And my blog is an extension of my business, Emcie Media.  So yeah, sometimes this blog is a for-profit venture.

Copyright: Everything on this website is original content, and is protected by copyright laws. Using it without my permission is illegal, even if you give me credit, and even if you include a link to my website.  If you’d like to use my content, just ask!  I might say yes!

International and Cultural Laws:  My blog originates in the United States, but is read all over the world.  I am not responsible for defamatory statements bound to government, religious, or other laws from the reader’s country of origin.

Legal Advice.  I’m not a lawyer.  I sometimes discuss matters of a legal nature that are related to my industry, and I sometimes give my readers tips and advice.  But if you need legal advice, call a lawyer.  If you need marketing advice, call me.
