More Facebook Changes! ARG!

Facebook has decided it’s time once again to screw with our business pages.  They say they’ll implement the new layout on March 30th, and it will look more like the new Timeline layout.  I don’t have all the details yet, but I’m attending a training this weekend, so stay tuned.  I’ll let you know what I learn.  Sheesh.

HostGator sucks

I’m a web designer and I deal with a lot of different hosting companies.  Some are awesome, most are not.  Yesterday morning at about 6 am, I needed to contact HostGator on behalf of one of my clients, so I went on their website and clicked on the “Live Chat” button.  The screen shown here popped up.  (Actually, I was …

Does your website suck? AIM to improve it.

Most do, ya know.  Oh sure, they look OK.  (Actually some don’t even pass that test.) But the real test of a website is in its ability to make you money.  I use a three-pronged approach to web marketing, and I call it AIM. A is for ATTRACT.  Does the campaign or website attract visitors?  And are they the visitors …

Don’t make lemonade. Build a fortress!

This is really the story of my life, and just another way of saying, “That which does not kill me, makes me stronger.”  I don’t love the bricks I’ve been thrown, and I certainly haven’t enjoyed them.  But they are the foundation of who I am, and the reason for my tenacity, my perseverance, and my drive. Of course, the …

Just one more

Imagine how productive you’d be if every time you were ready to stop working, you committed to completing “just one more”.  Just one more phone call.  Just one more thank you note.  Just one more document to file, or shred, or scan or read.  Just one more sit-up, one more crunch or one more minute on the treadmill.  Just one …

Work at it.

Brian Tracy said, “The future belongs to the competent. It belongs to those who are very, very good at what they do. It does not belong to the well-meaning.” I can’t help but think he’s right.  In fact, I hope he’s right.  Because competence is within my grasp, and yours as well.  Whatever you do, do it well.  Do it …

Where does it hurt?

With many thanks to my Simply Brilliant business consultant, Bob Cheatham (www.effectiveresults.net), I want to ask you this question:  Where does it hurt?  If you’re working hard, but not making money, you need to know why!  Maybe it’s your processes, maybe it’s your marketing, maybe it’s your pricing, maybe it’s something else.  Figure out where it hurts, then figure out …

Is your website a real dog?

Of course you like your website.  It’s attractive, it pleases you, your friends tell you it’s great.  But is it working for you?  Or is more like a good dog that pretty much just lays around and sleeps?  If your website isn’t bringing you business, it’s not working, and I suggest you get it checked out.  Maybe it’s OK for …
